ElevenLabs offers two ways to clone your own voice, an Instant Voice Clone and a Professional Voice Clone. Here’s how the Voice Creation page describes them.
Instant Voice Clone
Instant Voice Clone says you can clone your voice with only ten seconds of audio, by uploading files or recording yourself. The guide underneath shows a minimum of ten seconds, and three minutes as best.
Professional Voice Clone
Professional Voice Clone is described as the most realistic clone, working best with thirty-plus minutes of samples. Its guide shows ten minutes minimum and two hours as best. And it notes you can publish it to the Voice Library to earn money.
My own clone
That’s how my own voice ended up in the library. Full disclosure: I earn a share when people use it. One more thing I learned: to use a Professional Voice Clone in Text to Speech yourself, you need a Creator plan or higher.
Voice Design
The third option, Voice Design, generates a voice from a written prompt instead of a recording, and I cover it in a separate guide.
