The shortlist
Voices tested so far
Every voice reads the same scripts with default settings. Samples are being added; trust your ears over my notes.
I'm still testing voices for this. In the meantime, every voice tested so far is on the voices page. See all tested voices →
Workflow
From script to in-game audio
Plan the lines first. It saves credits and keeps characters consistent.
01
Write a line list
Give every line an ID and a character, so files stay organised when you export them.
02
Design or pick a voice
Choose from the Voice Library, or use Voice Design to generate an original character voice from a prompt.
03
Add effects
The Sound Effects tool generates effects from a description, with options for looping and duration.
Questions
Can I direct the emotion of a line?
Yes. In Eleven v4 you can put directions like or in square brackets before a line to change how it’s delivered.
Can I make a voice that sounds like a famous actor?
No. Don’t imitate real people or celebrities. Build original voices with Voice Design or Voice Remixing instead.
Can ElevenLabs make the sound effects too?
Yes. Describe the sound you want in the Sound Effects tool, or browse categories like impacts, whooshes and UI elements for ideas.
